About the role
You own the complete device experience: component choices, noise, thermals, recovery and repair. Making powerful computing practical enough to live in somebody's home is mostly a set of unglamorous constraints, and the difference between a machine people keep and a machine people unplug is usually one of them.
The work
Translate real agent workloads into memory, compute, storage, power and thermal requirements. Lead reference-platform selection, supplier engineering and hardware validation. Work with software teams on secure boot, drivers and deployment, and with partners on manufacturing and service.
What good looks like
In your first 90 days, compare two available platforms using the same workload suite and deliver a reference configuration, component risk register and pilot validation plan.
Evidence we look for
Bring experience taking computers or similarly complex electronics from architecture through validation and customer use. Show measured tradeoffs and evidence of productive supplier relationships.
What we need to see
- You have taken computers or comparably complex electronics from architecture through validation and into customer use
- You can show measured tradeoffs rather than described ones
- Productive supplier relationships you built and can evidence
- You treat noise, heat, and repairability as product requirements rather than afterthoughts
Nice to have
- Thermal or acoustic engineering depth
- You have taken a product through certification and compliance
- Contract manufacturing at small volumes as well as large
