Wireless and RF Engineer

Keep personal devices connected in ordinary homes. You will make wireless performance reliable when walls, interference and device placement complicate the design.

Pilot expansionOffice-first9 cities

About the role

You keep personal devices connected in ordinary homes, where walls, interference and wherever somebody actually decided to put the box complicate everything. Much of the skill here is diagnostic rather than design: when a user says it disconnects, telling a radio problem from a protocol problem from a power-management problem from an application bug is most of the job, and getting that attribution wrong wastes months.

The work

Evaluate antennas, coexistence, radio modules and network behavior. Collaborate with mechanical and system engineers on placement and shielding. Plan regional radio testing with qualified labs and use certified modules where they meet the product's needs.

What good looks like

In your first 90 days, deliver a household connectivity test matrix and resolve the most important reliability bottleneck.

Evidence we look for

Bring RF, wireless systems or embedded connectivity experience. Show how you distinguish radio problems from protocol, power-management and application failures.

What we need to see

  • RF, wireless systems, or embedded connectivity engineering
  • You can distinguish radio problems from protocol, power-management and application failures, and show how
  • Practical experience with real-world interference rather than chamber conditions
  • You design for the median home, not the best case

Nice to have

  • Wi-Fi 6E or 7, Thread, or BLE specifically
  • Antenna design
  • Regulatory certification experience

The exercise

Design an experiment to explain why a device works well on a bench but repeatedly disconnects in a crowded home network.

Where and how we work

In the office together five days a week, in any of these cities. Remote-friendly around your family, arranged one person at a time.
