About the role
You make private computing feel at home on the Apple devices people already use. We are Apple-minded about craft, and on these platforms the difference between a native experience and a wrapped one is obvious to every user within about ten seconds.
The work
Develop macOS and iOS components using supported platform capabilities. Integrate protected storage, authentication, accessibility and local model execution where suitable. Design around actual background-execution and permission limits, and maintain a tested platform capability matrix.
What good looks like
In your first 90 days, deliver a native path from setup to a useful local or explicitly delegated task, including clear failure and recovery states.
Evidence we look for
Bring strong Apple-platform engineering and product craftsmanship. Experience with Swift, native frameworks or low-level macOS systems is relevant to the assigned scope.
What we need to see
- Strong Apple-platform engineering with shipped work behind it
- Swift and native frameworks, or low-level macOS systems, depending on scope
- Product craftsmanship: you notice and fix the details nobody filed a bug for
- You build with the platform's conventions rather than against them
Nice to have
- System extensions, XPC, or endpoint security frameworks
- Core ML or on-device inference
- visionOS or watchOS
The exercise
Explain how a phone should present an ongoing task when its operating system suspends the app that started it.
Where and how we work
In the office together five days a week, in any of these cities. Remote-friendly around your family, arranged one person at a time.
