About the role
You find people whose work and values can advance the mission, and give them a thoughtful experience from first contact to decision, including when the answer is no. Understanding what an engineer actually contributed is the skill that separates this from keyword matching.
The work
Map research and engineering communities using public professional evidence and consented referrals. Partner with technical owners on role-specific outreach and consistent evaluation. Maintain accurate status, compensation information and candidate communication while respecting privacy and removal requests.
What good looks like
In your first 90 days, establish qualified pipelines for the priority roles and report stage conversion, candidate experience and bottlenecks.
Evidence we look for
Bring technical recruiting or talent research experience and the ability to understand an engineer's contribution. Show personalized outreach, careful records and sound judgment about what is job-relevant.
What we need to see
- Technical recruiting or talent research experience
- You can read an engineer's work and understand their actual contribution
- Personalised outreach you wrote yourself, and careful records
- Sound judgement about fit, including the confidence to say somebody impressive is not right for this
Nice to have
- Research or hardware hiring specifically
- You have built a sourcing function
- You still have relationships with people you placed years ago
The exercise
Build a small sourcing plan for a difficult systems role and explain how each candidate's public work relates to its first milestone.
Where and how we work
Customer-facing, so remote-friendly: base yourself in any major US city with good airport connections. Offices in all nine cities if you want one.
